Over the past 35 years Excem’s Cement Division has built a strong international network of partnerships worldwide. Excem is and has been for several decades Southern Europe’s largest independent player. Excem is also a founder, promoter and investor in a cement grinding mills company in Spain.

Cement Trading
Excem’s successful track record in the cement trading over the last four decades has contributed to position Spain amongst the world’s largest cement exporters. Excem has also undertaken the design, finance, construction and management of several silos in the United States, Northern Europe and Africa; the biggest being a bulk storage facility of 65.000 tonnes at Long Beach, California (USA).
Excem has initiated several important technical innovations in the sector, including pioneering methods of transport and unloading currently used in the United States, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, and other countries around the globe. The company is now one of the most dynamic independent traders worldwide, maintaining a leading position as a cement exporter, both for bulk and bagged cement, from Spain. In addition, the company exports large shipments of clinker from Turkey, Egypt, Asia and Eastern Europe to the United States, Central Europe, Israel, and West Africa.
More recently, in order to offer a wider variety of products to our clients, Excem has developed additional product lines including blast furnace slags, mill scales, bags for packaging and various natural and chemical additives.
Our annual sales volume of Cement stands in excess of 2 million tonnes (60% represented by Clinker sales), with clients including leading cement plants, construction and concrete firms and even other traders.
Industrial investments
Excem is one of the founders and controlling shareholders of CEMENTOS OCCIDENTALES, S.A. This company was set up in 2002, owns 2 cement grinding mills in Spain (located in Madrid and Ferrol) with a production capacity of 700,000 MT of Cement / Year each, and intends to build a third one in Cartagena. It currently produces 3 types of cement: a) CEM I 52.5 , b) CEM II / A - L 42.5 R y c) CEM II / B - L 32.5 with sales in excess of € 70 Million and with a team of more than 170 employees (directly and indirectly).
EXCEM pretends to grow in the Spanish cement market -and worldwide- through its company CEMENTOS OCCIDENTALES. This growth will be effected via acquisitions and partnerships with strategic cement producers (local and foreign ones), and/or via the construction of a fully integrated cement plant in order to have access to clinker quantities.
